Ming's Center Chinese Language, Culture & Brush Painting Summer Camp

Ming’s Center is going to offer 5-day sessions of language instruction , calligraphy and brush painting program this Summer.

1. 7/9-14th for grades 3-up, 9-12pm, Monday-Friday,

2. 7/16-20th for grades K-2, 9-12pm, Monday-Friday
   
3. 7/23-27th for grades 1-4, 9am-12pm, Monday-Friday
    Winchester-Thursday in North Campus

The course will both:

• serve as a short-term introduction to another language and culture, and
• provide a strong foundation for more intensive study in the future (for students who will continue).

 As a Chinese native who has lived in the United States for almost twenty years, as an individual with an advanced degree in Asian Literature and Linguistics, and as a Pennsylvania certified language teacher, I’ve designed my own courses based on teaching the basics of Chinese pronunciation, writing, and grammar in a fun way.   We do “Pinyin” (a system of phonetic writing), use rhymes, sing, and do traditional Chinese crafts such as brush painting, calligraphy, etc.  Positive responses from past students affirm my belief in the effectiveness of this approach.  I’ve also received many positive responses from parents who attended my Mandarin classes with their children. Each class, a Chinese snack will be served as a way to reinforce the learning of Chinese language and culture and customs.  (Please notify me if your child/children have any food allergies.)

The cost for the 5 day camp is $275 (including all the art supplies such as rice papers, Chinese brushes, ink and etc.) per student ( $15 discount offered for siblings), with a maximum of 20 students in each class.  Payment with checks should be sent to: Y.
